Probably one of the funniest comedies currently running, it tells the story of  two brothers, the Harper brothers Alan and Charlie, they are almost opposites but form a great comedy duo. Charlie is a freelance jingle writer in a beach-house in Malibu, he is a player who rarely gets up before lunch around noon, Charlie´s brother comes to him after splitting with his wife and this is were the comedy begins. The brothers have little in common except their dislike for their maternally cold but domineering mother Evelyn, Allan is a compulsive,neat chiropractor and a total control-freak. Charlie lets his brother stay with him 'temporarily' with his son Jake, a lazy fat school kid. Other regular characters include Charlie's fat cleaning lady Bertha and his rich, obsessively infatuated neighbor-girl and his stalker Rose who often sneaks or breaks in.
